In March 2021, Jonathan Ruff purchased Ebenezer Church with a clear vision — to breathe new life into one of Guernsey’s most distinctive historic buildings and transform it into a collection of exceptional modern homes.

Working in collaboration with some of the island’s leading architects and structural engineers, the plans were finalised, and construction began in July 2021.

A Passion for Heritage and Design

Converting a church is never straightforward. The very structure that gives a church its character also presents unique design and engineering challenges. But for Jonathan, this was familiar territory — Ebenezer Church marked his fifth church conversion.

Through his previous projects, Jonathan has gained extensive experience in preserving architectural heritage while creating contemporary living spaces. He understands the balance between respecting the past and embracing the future — and has successfully navigated the many complexities such conversions bring.

From Vision to Reality

The result is a remarkable transformation — 17 stunning apartments, each one unique, carefully crafted, and rich in character.
