Golfers raise money for premature baby charity

After a year of activities and donations, the RGGC Ladies raised almost £3,000 for the Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation.
PPBF founder Jo Priaulx said the charity was grateful for the support.
‘These generous funds will enable us to provide premature Anne twin training dolls for the neonatal unit at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital,’ she said.
‘These high-tech dolls will help train local midwives, nurses and medical staff in resuscitation and the initiation of proper care of pre-term infants.’
RGGC Ladies captain Di Rihoy chose the PPBF as the club’s charity of the year, which meant members and guests participated in fundraising activities throughout the year. These ranged from a captain’s drive-in to raffles and bring-and-buys.
The charity’s support for premature babies and their families personally resonated with Mrs Rihoy, whose grandson was born prematurely.
‘My daughter had complications during her pregnancy and had to be flown to Southampton for specialist treatment,’ she said.
