From screen to stage – Upload Festival is going live!
During the Guernsey Lockdown, singer songwriters kept audiences engaged and entertained from the safety of their homes. Upload Festival CI pulled together performances from across the Channel Islands and scheduled live streams to be shown in a weekend festival format. To celebrate the end of Lockdown, we have invited the Upload Festival to St James, for a live, on stage experience.
“St James is an incredible venue for anyone to play, and we’re so chuffed to be able to offer the experience to local musicians who wouldn’t typically play such stages. A defining moment in my musical adventures was my first time playing the main stage for Sound at St James as Kiya Ashton. As a solo artist, opportunities to play the big stages of festivals don’t come nearly as easy as they do if you’re in a band, but it’s such an incredible feeling to be on a large stage with a large audience, who you’re commanding by just doing what you love. That experience taught me so much about my stage presence on a more subtle and mature level than before, and it’s an experience I’ve been dying to give to more people. I cannot thanks the team behind St James enough for helping all of us give this opportunity.” – Kiya Ashton, organiser of Upload Festival CI
Over two days more than 50 performers will take to the stage – join them for a weekend of (mostly) acoustic music at St James.
Doors open at 12.30pm
Music from 12.45pm – 11pm on Saturday and 12.45pm until 8pm on Sunday
Tickets are FREE – entry open to all
